1. Library Rules

a. The students may borrow up to 3 books at a time for a period of 15 days.

b. At the expiry of the borrowing period, a books may be reissued, if another user has not reserved the same already.

c. Books from the reference room are not to be taken out of the library.

d. All users have access to the stacks. They may go in and browse among the books of their choice. However, care is to be taken to place the books back in their proper places.

e. Transfer of books from one borrower to another is not permitted.

f. All books are to be returned before the commencement of vacation.

g. To access all library services, kindly ensure you have your Aquinas Identity Card with you. Please use it for checking in and out of the library. We appreciate your understanding that books can only be issued or returned when the Identity Card is presented.

h) All users are kindly requested to leave their bags, personal items, issued books, and other belongings in the lockers located to the left of the entrance before entering the main library area.

i) Students are kindly requested not to remove periodicals (bound or single) or reference books from the designated reading areas.

j) If a professor reserves books for a course, they should be consulted only in the Reading Room.

k) Anyone can reserve a book already lent out and can claim it at the end of the expiry period. If a reserved book is not claimed after two days, it will be returned to the stacks or will be given to the next person on the reservation list.

l) A book can be renewed for the same borrower once the initial borrowing period ends, provided it has not been reserved by someone else.

m) If a borrower fails to return or renew the book on the given due date he/she will be charged a fine of Rs 1 per day per book.

n) Newly acquired books will be showcased in the New Arrivals section for two weeks, and users may reserve them during this period.

Current issues of journals will be displayed in the journal section until the subsequent issue is received.

o) All users have access to the stack rooms. After browsing the books, please do not try to replace them, but leave them on the book stand placed in front of the racks. The library staff will replace these books.

p) Borrower of a book is not allowed to exchange it to  another.

q ) All books must be returned before the start of vacation period.

Failure to do so may result in being barred from participating in subsequent exams.

r) Non-Aquinas students may use the library only with the permission of the Librarian. However, they will not be granted borrowing or lending privileges.

s) The library timing is from Monday through Saturday.
